In China, DJI drones are widely used in the agricultural sector. As early as 2012, DJI applied drone technology to the agricultural sector and founded DJI Agriculture in 2015. DJI Agriculture provides users with digital agricultural solutions based on space intelligent equipment. The application expansion of DJI Agriculture will form three echelons. The first echelon is field applications, the second echelon is fruit tree applications, and the third echelon is digital agricultural applications that promote weight loss and drug reduction, increased production and increased income. In the short term, DJI will still focus on mechanization, but intelligence will be a long-term goal.

In December 2015, DJI launched an intelligent agricultural spraying drone - DJI MG-1 agricultural plant protection machine, which realized the automation of plant protection flight operations. DJI officially entered the field of agricultural drones. In 2016, the sales volume of MG-1 in mainland China was 2,500 units, accounting for more than 60% of the total number of agricultural plant protection drones in China. In terms of new sales in 2016, the MG-1 agricultural plant protection machine can account for more than 70% of the industry's overall sales.

Since exporting the first agricultural drone to Japan in 2016, DJI Agriculture has promoted agricultural drones globally and popularized China's advanced agricultural technology equipment to the world. DJI's agricultural drones' operating tracks are spread across five continents, covering more than 100 countries and regions, and have been applied on a large scale in more than 30 countries, covering field crops such as corn, soybeans, rice, and wheat, as well as major cash crops such as coffee, tea, citrus, cotton, and sugarcane.

As of 2020, DJI's agricultural plant protection drones have exceeded 200 million mu of global annual operating area, and global shipments have exceeded 30,000 units. The T series plant protection drones have achieved pest and disease control on 21 kinds of fruit trees, with an operating area of more than 7 million mu.

In 2020, the sales volume of the top ten plant protection drones in China was 12,869 units, accounting for 80% of the total sales. Among them, DJI has 3 products on the list, with a total market share of 47.42%. As of 2021, DJI has a total of 7 models in the field of agricultural plant protection, including MG-1P, T16, T20, T10, T30, T20P, and T40 series. As of September 2022, DJI's global sales of agricultural drones exceeded 200,000 units, and the cumulative operating area exceeded 3 billion mu. DJI Agriculture continued to expand the coverage of its after-sales network in 2022, increasing the number of after-sales maintenance outlets to 1,100.
